What this route is really like

This is one of the older local route stories in the Yosemite E-Biking blog, and it captures why the quieter roads around Mariposa and Midpines work so well on an e-bike: sustained climbing, open foothill scenery, and enough distance that pedal assist makes the ride more approachable without taking away the work of riding. The exact route can change with road conditions, weather, and the group.

A note on current tour logistics

Current Yosemite E-Biking tours meet next to the Mariposa Visitor Center at 5158 Highway 140 in Mariposa. This article reflects an earlier route setup, so use it as a look at the terrain and riding experience rather than as a turn-by-turn itinerary. Guided routes are selected for the day and can vary by season and conditions.

For riders who like this kind of terrain, the appeal is the same: quieter Sierra Foothill roads, long views, and a route that feels far removed from Yosemite traffic even though Mariposa is a gateway town.
