You Don’t Have to Be a Cyclist to Explore Mariposa by E-Bike

a group of riders on a yosemite e-biking tour

One of my favorite things about running Yosemite E-Biking is how often somebody shows up a little unsure about the bike.

Maybe they haven’t ridden in years. Maybe it’s their first time on an e-bike. Or they’re traveling with a family where everybody has a different fitness level, and they're wondering how that's going to work once the road starts climbing.

Usually, that worry doesn't last very long.

After a little time getting comfortable with the bikes, we're off into the Sierra Foothills.

80 Reviews. Still 5 Stars.

Yosemite E-Biking has now reached 80 reviews with a 5.0-star rating. I'm proud of that, but what I like more is what people keep mentioning in those reviews.

Guests talk about feeling taken care of. They mention the snacks, cold drinks, route choices, photos, safety equipment, and support vehicle. First-time riders talk about getting comfortable on an e-bike. Families mention being able to ride together even when everyone doesn't have the same experience or fitness level.

One recent review described a trip with a 77-year-old father who hadn't ridden a bike in decades. After some patient practice, he was out riding with the group.

That's exactly what I want these tours to be.

A Private Tour Means We Can Ride Your Ride

This isn't a group tour where you have to keep up with a schedule or a line of strangers.

Our tours are private, and I can adjust the route and pace to the people who actually show up that morning.

Want a relaxed ride with lots of stops? We can do that.

Want to put in some miles and climb into the foothills? We can do that too.

Depending on the tour, we can ride up to 27 miles and gain 3,000 feet of elevation on a half-day outing, or up to 40 miles and 5,000 feet on a full-day adventure. The e-bikes make those numbers much more approachable than they sound.

And we're not riding laps around town. We're heading onto the backroads of Mariposa County, through ranch country and into the Sierra Foothills, with stops along the way for views, photos, snacks, and whatever else we find.

There’s More Than E-Biking

If you have a full day, we can turn the ride into something bigger.

Our combination adventures pair e-biking with rock climbing or gold panning, giving you a chance to see a very different side of Mariposa and its Gold Rush country. The climbing option includes the equipment you'll need, while the gold-panning day adds some local history to the ride.

For families, couples, groups of friends, or corporate outings, I can also help put together a day that fits the group.

An Easy Day to Add to a Yosemite Trip

We're based in Mariposa, with tours meeting right next to the Mariposa Visitor Center at 5158 CA-140. That makes an e-bike tour particularly easy to work into an arrival day, departure day, or a day when you want to get outside without spending the entire day inside Yosemite National Park.

The Valley should absolutely be part of a Yosemite trip.

But there's a lot more country out here.

Some of my favorite places are the quiet roads, ranches, old Gold Rush country, and ridgelines just outside town—the places you probably wouldn't find if you simply drove Highway 140 straight toward the park.

An e-bike gives us a pretty good way to get there.

Come Ride With Us

If you're coming to Yosemite or Mariposa this summer or fall, I'd love to show you around Mariposa.

You don't need to be an experienced cyclist. You don't need to arrive in great riding shape. Bring your family or friends, tell me what kind of day you're looking for, and we'll figure out the rest.

Bikes, helmets, gloves, snacks, cold drinks, photos, and plenty of local knowledge are part of the experience.

Ready to ride?

See you in Mariposa,
